Good-bye to Petar Sobic from Unilever

As announced at the last AIM-PROGRESS meeting in Vevey, Petar Sobic has retired from Unilever at the end of January 2012. He has been a great chairman to our initiative and pivotal in setting up AIM-PROGRESS and providing direction. Petar's successor, Traci Hampton, has now been appointed and will join us for future meetings.

Supplier capability building

The Supplier Capability Building work stream had another amazing year in 2011. We reached more than 1.700 individuals through four face-to-face events (Johannesburg, Beijing, Mexico City, Nairobi) and three webinars (two in Europe, one in North America). The work stream is busy planning the 2012 schedule. To be communicated soon!

AIM-PROGRESS membership news

AIM-PROGRESS membership has grown over the last 2 months to include 3 new companies - Givaudan, McDonald's and Henkel. This takes the membership to 29 companies.

Good turnout for North American AIM-PROGRESS webinar

Hosted by General Mills, the webinar attracted nearly 300 participants. ¨Speakers included senior representatives of General Mills and Kellogg's, as well as members of the AIM-PROGRESS team. For the first time GSCP also had a short speaking slot to illustrate how the two organisations relate.

AIM-PROGRESS expanding resources

Clare Flannery of Sedex has joined AIM-PROGRESS as a part-time resource to help with project support and communication. Clare has experience in the CSR sector as she previously worked for the UK Charity Retail Association, as well as the Fairtrade Foundation and Asda George. Clare is also studying for a masters degree in CSR. She has already started making contact with work stream leaders and will be joining us for our next AIM-PROGRESS meeting in March in the US.
