On February 26, AIM-PROGRESS convened a supplier forum in Mumbai sponsored by four of our members: ALPLA, Diageo, Givaudan and Unilever, and supported by ELEVATE.
The event was attended by over 160 supplier representatives and covered brands’ responsible sourcing expectations, the value of audits and mutual recognition, compliance issues related to health and safety, forced and child labour, including at agricultural level, along with how to cascade responsible sourcing practices beyond tier 1 and to farm-level.
The morning plenary session was followed by deep-dive afternoon workshops to allow participants to discuss more in detail the challenges they face daily in their work: 1) health and safety facilitated by ELEVATE; 2) forced labour and child labour, led by Sustrack; 3) and agriculture for commodity suppliers, managed by Impactt.
