MUTUAL RECOGNITION – LOOKING AT WHAT ELSE CAN BE MUTUALLY RECOGNIZED

As part of our future strategy, we are seeking to expand the tools that could be mutually recognized, going beyond audits for which we already have a mutual recognition approach in place. A third party study commissioned by AIM-PROGRESS identified four « buckets» of potentially mutually recognizable tools that should be further investigated:

• supplier third party assessments and self-assessment tools (as opposed to on-the-ground audits),
• worker voice survey questionnaires and tools,
• responsible recruitment certification schemes,
• and human rights impact assessments.

Our Mutual Recognition work stream is now discussing the supplier assessment “bucket” in view of facilitating mutual recognition, or at least sharing, of such tools.
