Overview

International Tourism Partnership is a programme of Business in the Community (BITC). It is a non-competitive platform for hotel industry leaders to share ideas, build relationships and work collaboratively to make this one of the world’s most responsible industries.

Its Human Rights Working Group brings members together to accelerate learning, share best practices and develop resources to help members address human rights issues. They actively engage with specialist international organisations, industry bodies and trade unions to accelerate learning on human rights. Their focus is working with stakeholders and members to deliver practical, business-focused solutions and resources.

ITO objectives:

  • raise awareness of human rights risks in the hotel industry and embed human rights requirements into the corporate governance of ITP members,
  • work to adress human risks raising in the labour supply chain,
  • identify and develop tools to address human rights risks during the development and construction phase of hotels.
