No Fees' Initiative
  • PRINCIPLES
Overview

ICCR’s “No Fees” initiative is designed to lead companies to create robust management systems which will ensure that workers in their immediate and extended supply chains are not forced to pay for employment. The Initiative asks companies to adopt three basic principles, to prevent the exploitation of migrant workers. These three pillars should be integrated into every corporate recruitment policy.

Activities / Outputs / Results

Beyond the three pillars, ICCR members are engaging companies to request that they:

  • create/supplement company policy and ensuing document regarding ethical recruitment.
  • establish procedures that ensure suppliers are abiding by the company policy to recruit responsibly.
  • implement a supply chain traceability program to track the commodity to the producer.
  • cease any relationships with suppliers that do not cooperate on the issue.
  • participate in the multi-stakeholder network of NGOs, investors, companies, trade associations and trade unions that are collectively working adopt better recruitment practices in given commodities (RSPO) and share the steps taken to ensure that the social/labor component stays on the sustainability agenda.

Note:
No Fees' Initiative is working closely with three other initiatives to promote collective action in the field of modern slavery, migration workers and recruitments.
