Overview

The Walk Free Foundation’s Global Slavery Index has developed world-leading research to provide measurement of the size and scale of modern slavery, as well as assess country-level vulnerability and governmental responses.

The 2018 Global Slavery Index provides a country by country ranking of the number of people in modern slavery (169 countries), as well as an analysis of the actions governments are taking to respond, and the factors that make people vulnerable.

In 2018, the Index also includes an analysis of trade flows and data on state imposed forced labour in North Korea, risk factors in the fishing industry, and the prevalence of forced labour in the cocoa sector.
