Implementing the UN principles on business and human rights through due diligence in companies’ operations is the objective of the Human Rights work stream of AIM-PROGRESS. Two webinars were organized for AIM-PROGRESS members in August and September to introduce the Human Rights Challenge in Business. The presentations are available publicly on the AIM-PROGRESS website.
It is also foreseen to offer such webinars to the overall membership of AIM and GMA during Q1 2013.
The work stream has now identified those human rights which are most critical to the business environment and work has started on identifying useful tools to determine high risk suppliers and references for recommended reading.
The next two deliverables will be recommendations on how to integrate human rights due diligence processes into companies’ day-to-day business and supplier expectations via SAQ and audit protocols. The end deliverable will be a complete training kit for companies to use internally within their companies and with their suppliers.
