Nestlé hosted the third AIM-PROGRESS membership meeting of the year in Kuala Lumpur on 25-26 October. Given the geographical context, discussions focused on forced/migrant labour, as well as deforestation. Speakers included Vérité, The Responsible Business Alliance and RSPO, who challenged brands to step up their efforts on these topics in South-East Asia.
Another focus for discussion was our Asia-Pacific regional hub, which is facilitated by CSR Asia (an ELEVATE company). The hub provides networking and collaboration opportunities for our local member company representatives and currently already has 20 confirmed participants. Brian Chan, Human and Workplace Rights Director with Coca-Cola, has kindly agreed to chair the hub.
