Mutual Recognition (led by Coca-Cola)

The MR framework to date has been adopted by 19 companies. 5000 audits from 14 member companies are being shared through a joint audited supplier list. Some companies are getting as much as 30% of their audits covered through MR. The next round will take place in January 2012. Support for benchmarking the audit protocols, as a first step to mutual recognition, will be provided by the ITC (International Trade Centre), a UN agency in Geneva, who will offer AIM-PROGRESS an automated platform as a one-year project.

The target for 2012 is to reach 10,000 audited supplier records on the joint list, which would cover up to 35% of companies’ audit requests. The MR work stream will also carry out a benchmarking survey about companies’ use of CSR resources and the structures they put in place, to be launched before the end of the year.
