Nestlé Hosts October 2011 AIM-PROGRESS Meeting

The picturesque Nestlé offices on Lake Geneva in Vevey were host to the 18-20 October meeting of AIM-PROGRESS, which brought together over 40 representatives.

The meeting focused on further developing work stream activities, such as:

• Organising 2012 supplier seminars;
• Benchmarking companies’ CSR resources & structures;
• Contributing business integrity elements for supplier codes and audit protocols;
• Preparing the next round of “Mutual Recognition”;
• Helping Sedex to improve and benchmarking its capabilities against other platforms, as well as seeking interoperability;
• Liaising with related initiatives;
• Launching the new AIM-PROGRESS website by the end of the year.

The Advisory Board of AIM-PROGRESS, which met directly after the event, discussed the broader policy context for our activities, in particular the new “Ruggie” framework (see page 3) and further developing the environmental pillar of AIM-PROGRESS. The Advisory Board comprises brand manufacturers and members of ILO, WWF and Global CSR.
