On 13 August 2014, The Coca-Cola Company and MARS, along with four other participating brands – McDonald’s, Reckitt Benckiser, Nestlé and MWV – hosted an AIM-PROGRESS Responsible Sourcing Forum in Gurgaon, India, to promote responsible sourcing standards in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) supply chains. The event generated a good amount of interest, reaching over 300 registrations.
The participants came together to learn more about customer expectations regarding responsible sourcing and methods used to verify compliance to social and environmental standards. The participants heard from speakers representing member brands including MARS, The Coca-Cola Company, Reckitt Benckiser, as well as organisations working to improve standards in global supply chains.
AIM-PROGRESS will continue to organise supplier events. A further event is planned for 17 November in Frankfurt (hosted by Nestlé). A calendar for 2015 is being put together and will include events in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Participation to supplier events is on invitation by AIM-PROGRESS member companies.
