The importance of Human Rights for Businesses

Implementing the UN Principles on Business and Human Rights through due diligence in companies' operations is the objective of a new AIM-PROGRESS work stream, set up in March 2012.  

The work stream has now finalised its project charter and intends to produce the following deliverables:

• Common understanding of the human rights challenge for business
• Priority areas for action
• Tools for due diligence assessment
• Generic SAQ and audit protocols for supplier assessment
• Training packages

Two webinar are being organised on 30 August and 19 September for AIM-PROGRESS members to introduce the human rights challenge. The webinar will be recorded and made available to the public via the AIM-PROGRESS website.
