Transparency in UK Company Supply Chains (Eradication of Slavery) Bill 2012-13

The Bill will require large companies in the UK to annually disclose the measures they take to eradicate slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and the worst forms of child labour from their supply chains. Information must be made publicly available in the company’s annual report and on the company’s website. The Bill requires that the information is both easy to find and easy to understand.  Companies that identify slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and the worst forms of child labour in their supply chains will be required to take action to assist the people who have been victims and must report on that action in their annual reports. The second reading of the Bill was adjourned until 18 January 2013. Click here to keep up to date with the progress of the Bill.
