In 2023 AIM-Progress together with nine member companies partnered with Embode to launch the Ganapati Responsible Recruitment Project, an 18 month pilot program aimed at improving supplier engagement and driving responsible recruitment practices in Thailand and Malaysia. This initiative worked directly with suppliers to address challenges around forced labor and exploitative recruitment practices, particularly impacting migrant workers.
To learn more, see a summary report of the project here.
The summary includes key objectives as well as some of the key achievements of the Ganapati Project. It looks at what are the main challenges to address and finally some recommendations for both suppliers and industry stakeholders.
The project underlines the necessity for long-term investment in supplier engagement and capacity-building initiatives if we are to drive better recruitment practices in high risk supply chains. By fostering collaboration, embedding sustainable recruitment practices, and enhancing worker protections, AIM-Progress and Embode aim to create lasting improvements in global supply chains.
For further engagement, AIM-Progress continues to drive these practices through workshops, partnerships, and collaborative programs with suppliers and brands.
A more detailed version of the summary is available for AIM-Progress members only.
