AIM-Progress Supplier Capability Building Programme – South Africa

Empowering Supply Chain Actors in South Africa and Beyond the Region:

We are excited to announce the launch of AIM-Progress Supplier Capability Building Programmes in South Africa (YEAR 1) as part of the regional hubs. The South Africa supplier programme is done in collaboration with our technical partners Partner Africa and with Quizrr contributing on the Monitoring and Evaluation front.

Objective: This programme aims to equip suppliers with essential knowledge and tools for implementing human rights due diligence (HRDD), including Health and Safety, climate & human rights, working conditions, grievance mechanisms and remediation

Setup: This will include a blend of 4-5 very practical virtual trainings and one two days in-person event in Johannesburg featuring guest speakers from government, the private sector and civil society and brand-supplier networking opportunities.

Timeline: The programme will run from November 2025 to March 2026.

What will suppliers get out of it?  

  1. Deeper understanding on the concept, business case, and implementation of HRDD
  2. Insights into the countries’ regulatory context in relation to global expectations on human rights.
  3. Practical tools to achieve decent working conditions, such as working hours trackers, payslip templates, and Health & Safety policy checklists.
  4. Access practical examples, best practices and lessons learned on HRDD, grievance and responsible recruitment worke dialogue to inspire learning and action

This session will introduce the concept of Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD), explain key international standards alongside the South African context, and clarify the differences between codes, standards, legislation, and regulations

21st January 2026  
Webinar 2 Identifying and prioritising risks and impacts

This session will show you how to identify and prioritise risks in your supply chain using tools like mapping templates and heat maps, while also engaging stakeholders to understand which issues are most important

2nd February 2026  
Webinar 3 Cease, prevent, and mitigate risks & remediation

This session will explain how to set prevention goals, apply mitigation measures, use grievance mechanisms, and understand what effective remediation looks like in practice

18th February 2026  
Webinar 4 Tracking and communicating HREDD impacts

This session will cover how to monitor progress using clear indicators and how to communicate your company’s human rights due diligence efforts effectively, both internally and externally
