Understanding the evolving landscape of Human Rights and related CSR legislation

15 Sep 2022

There continues to be much movement in the legislative landscape worldwide to ensure business integrates corporate social responsibility, supply chain due diligence and overall respect for human rights and environmental protection into its decision-making. AIM-Progress have been partnering with international law firm Ropes & Gray for several years now to provide semi-annual updates on the evolution of the legislative landscape with particular relevance for companies’ sourcing strategies.

We are pleased to release our latest update for AIM-Progress members and to the wider business community and civil society. There have been quite a few developments since the last update, including the proposal for a EU corporate sustainability due diligence directive, the U.S. Transaction and Sourcing Knowledge Act & SEC Climate‐risk Disclosure Rules, New Zealand Modern Slavery Act, U.K. Climate‐related Financial Disclosure Regulations. The latest news – just hot off the EU Commission press and not yet contained in our legislative update – is the draft regulation on banning products made with forced labour from the EU Single Market.
