Supply Chain Mapping – a common need for visibility

As part of its strategy to drive continuous improvement, AIM-PROGRESS is currently investigating the feasibility of a common project on supply chain mapping. AIM-PROGRESS members are all investigating upstream supply chains back to origins in order to drive implementation of company requirements or compliance towards specific standards. Efforts to establish visibility upstream all the way back to farms/plantations/origins may be different and risk of duplication of work is high. As a first step the project will seek to establish shared expertise on supply chain mapping with the ambition to achieve, as much as feasible, “Mutual Recognition of supply chain maps”.  Common and shared understanding of supply chain mapping vocabulary, existing initiatives & tools and processes are a key enabler and will be the first step of the project.
